Configuring Your Minecraft Server

Change your world settings on the Server Settings page, no editing server.properties by hand. Open the Configuration dropdown menu and click Server Settings.

What you can change

Message of the Day, Difficulty, Default Game Mode, Max Players, PVP, Spawn Monsters/Animals/Villagers, Allow Flight, Spawn Protection Radius, View Distance, Simulation Distance, Enable Command Blocks, and Force Game Mode.

Set what you want, click Save, then Restart from the Console.

Lowering View Distance and Simulation Distance is the single best fix for lag on a busy server.

Want a private server? In the Console tab type whitelist on, then whitelist add FriendName for each friend. Open a ticket if you need a hand.
